MOLLY SANDHU
Intoxicated by Your Fragrance
Size (in):40 x 60

The Atheist says there’s no God. The scientist says that Big Bang created us. The sceptics say that life
isn’t possible anywhere else. We are all alone in the world say the astronomers. Do we believe the
rationalists? Does everything that exist, visible to us. Does everything that has sound, audible? The
elephants can hear better than us. The cats can see better than us. Is our knowledge of life whole?
Shouldn’t we be asking the cats and elephants of what they think of the divine? Such amazing beauty
surrounds us. It has to be God! I summon the divine but I can’t see and suddenly I bow down in
obeisance as I smell a sweet fragrance and I know the divine has come and I dance like a sufi and I say to
the divine that I am intoxicated by your fragrance.
